Dr. Anil Kakodkar, the former Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission, is
scheduled to inaugurate the first digital school in Madhya Pradesh
based on the MP Education Board syllabus, at Lepa Punarvas, Khargone
district on July three, 2017 at 09.15 am.
Shrimati Smita Bharadwaj, the Director, MP Finance Corporation, will
chair the inaugural session. The Madhya Pradesh Education Board’s
Deputy Chairman, Mr. Bhagirathji Kumarawat will be the Guest of
The digital school is being set up by the Ramkrishna Sharada Niketan
run by the Nimar Abhyudaya Rural Management And Development
Association (NARMADA). The Association which is founded by Shrimati
Bharati Thakur, is headed by Mathematician, Dr Lalita Deshpande, the
former Professor Veermata Jijabai Technical Institute (VJTI), Mumbai.
Dr. Anil Kakodkar has consented to inaugurate also the NARMADA Rural
Technology Centre being sent up in collaboration with the Bhabha
Atomic Research Centre (BARC). The BARC has agreed to be the
knowledge partner of the NARMADA Rural Technology Centre. It will
function as the ‘Department of Atomic Energy – Outreach Centre.’ The
Centre’s inaugural function will be held at the Sardar Patel Institute
of Technology and Management, Mandleshwar at 11 am the same day.
This will be followed by a two-day workshop on “Rural Technology”
organised by the BARC, the NARMADA and the Madhya Pradesh Council of
Science and Technology (MPCOST) on 3rd and 4th July. Several renowned
scientists of India will participate in the workshop being held for
the benefit of the farmers of the Nimar region.
