Nimar Abhyudaya Rural Management and Development Association (N.A.R.M.A.D.A.)
Empowering Rural India Through Education Skill and Sustainability
Nestled in the serene landscape of Lepa Punarwas, Kasarawad Tehsil, Khargone District, Madhya Pradesh, N.A.R.M.A.D.A. is a registered non-governmental organization founded in October 2010 by Smt. Bharati Thakur after completing the sacred Narmada Parikrama. Guided by the vision of holistic rural upliftment, the organization is dedicated to nurturing the potential of tribal and economically weaker communities through education, vocational training, and sustainable development initiatives.

At N.A.R.M.A.D.A., we believe true transformation begins with education that enlightens both the mind and the spirit.

We run three schools that provide free residential education to over 230 children, blending academics with vocational, cultural, and spiritual learning. Alongside their studies, children learn hands-on skills in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, farming, and traditional arts like music, yoga, and meditation—preparing them for a life of self-reliance and integrity.

Our technical wing, the Vivekananda Institute of Rural Technology (VIRT), offers diploma courses in Rural Technology, bridging the gap between modern innovation and local sustainability. Through our pioneering “Skills on Wheels” (Kaushalya Rath) initiative, we bring mobile vocational training directly to remote villages—empowering youth with employable skills at their doorstep.

N.A.R.M.A.D.A. also serves as a hub of compassion and community service. Every month, we organize medical camps in the hilly tribal regions of Alirajpur, providing critical healthcare support to pregnant women with the help of dedicated doctors from Aurangabad and local hospitals.

Our Gaushala shelters and cares for 30–40 cows, teaching children responsibility and the values of sustainable living.

The organization proudly hosts cultural and spiritual events such as Narmada Jayanti Utsav, Guru Purnima and Swami Vasudevananda Saraswati Jayanti, nurturing India’s timeless traditions.

In December 2024, N.A.R.M.A.D.A. organized the National Conclave on Rural Technology, a landmark event that brought together innovators, educators, and policymakers to explore sustainable solutions for rural India. With over 100 participants, 40 innovative projects, and the participation of 4,000 farmers, the event was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, who lauded the organization’s initiatives.

Through its women empowerment programs, N.A.R.M.A.D.A. also trains rural women in tailoring and garment production, providing them avenues to earn, create, and contribute with dignity.
